What began as an organic extension of relationships cultivated at our partner restaurants has grown into a cornerstone of Greensboro’s event and catering scene. At its heart, 1618 On Location is about connection—starting with in-home dinners and small gatherings, building to larger celebrations, and eventually creating unforgettable experiences for weddings and corporate events alike.

We were simply meeting a need. A new home still under construction, contractors working until hours before the party, florists arranging the final touches—this was the kind of scenario where our team shined.
From coordinating rentals and linens to quite literally blowing away construction dust, we became the team that could make any space “party ready.” That ability to step in and handle every detail, no matter the challenge, became part of our DNA.
We purchased a mobile kitchen as an extension of 1618 Midtown, initially for street vending and High Point Furniture Market events. It wasn’t long before the mobile kitchen evolved into something greater: a catering centerpiece that allowed us to bring restaurant-quality dining to off-site events.
We proudly became one of the first food trucks to serve at the High Point Furniture Market and were part of Greensboro’s food truck pilot program.
In the Early Days...

Our first "real" wedding in 2014 marked a pivotal moment. Danielle and Carol trusted us with their special day, and Katherine and Nathan brought us to their family farm in Siler City for a 375-guest celebration—our first large-scale wedding.
It was there we connected with other vendors, built relationships, and grew our reputation in the wedding industry. These moments were not just milestones; they were foundational to our journey.
Over time, the corporate side of our business also flourished. Deuterman Law Group entrusted us with their holiday party in 2010, setting the stage for countless partnerships with local businesses.
And just as engagements celebrated at one of our restaurants naturally evolved into catering those couples’ weddings, our focus on cultivating relationships has always been at the heart of our growth.
